Mel fought the law and won! Her case was thrown out based on two simple facts: no one was hurt and Mel didn't give the officer any lip (shocking, right?). It seems you can get out of lots of legal entanglements if you want to make the trip to the court.
She was relieved, yet doesn't feel vindicated. I think she's happy she did it. Maybe.
As a last ditch effort this morning, I tried to get her to allow me to come with her as her attorney and have Ian has my co-counsel. She didn't go for it. I told her I would have charged the "family rate" which, from the bike shop was retail + 15% (to cover the drama).
I am so proud of Mel for sticking up for herself.
