Alone, adrift, just me and the kids and three cars. My brother Rob is off hunting Albatross on Glaciers (don't ask, it is true) and Mel is goofing off in Florida. The kids and I are stuck here, going to school and doing work...well going to school anyway.
So, playing the single dad is never fun. Not for me anyway as I look at how much more fun it would have been if Mel were there. We went mountain biking and rock climbing and had a blast. Reagan was nervous about the rocks riding her new 26" wheeled mountain bike but by the end she was all smiles and didn't crash once. I am so proud of her.
Ian was on the trail-a-bike, now hates bumps and only fell off the back of it onto the tire once. I am sure he'll be able to have kids some day... Poor guy. He is getting strong, his pedaling power made a big difference to our ability to ride fast.
So I am left to my own devices, which really means i am re-wiring the trailer to get my boat out of the water before it freezes into the creek. Brrrr. it has gotten cold up here quick.
Mel comes home on Thurs...probably with a nice tan. Hopefully I won't have misplaced one or both of the kids by then. I certainly am not licensed for this kind of responsibility... I fully expect DCF to bust down the door and take the kids to a safe house any moment now.
