So, we decide to replace the kitchen sink; it has some rust on it that was getting annoying and uglier by the day. We head to our giant home supply retailer (two, really because I am a shop-a-holic) and come home with the identical sink and new faucet to replace the faded one that really didn't match (white heat vs. bisque - I love the names of colors).
I am not plumber. For some reason, the laws that govern plumbing don't apply to me. Like simple things: if a tube wasn't leaking before I disconnected, you can be sure it will when I reconnect it? What is up with that.
So I go to Wal-Mart (our local hardware store closed about 10 min before I realized I wanted a new part) and come back with a replacement tube. 3" too short. Fantastic.
No joke, I went to bed Sat. night with the hot water fittings leaking and the cold not to find upon waking up, the hot was find and the cold now leaked. GRRRR. I've no idea how the Plumbing Leprechauns find me, but they do good work...
So now it is caulked in, nothing seems to be leaking (though, really with my understanding of plumbing, that could change any instant) and all is well...
In other news, Ian has a virus that makes him wake up at 2am. and be crabby the remainder of the day... Reagan won her first soccer game. Melissa is tired from getting up @ 2am for 3 days in a row (as I am useless at that time of night; I turn into the groggy avenger who mutters one sylable answers and speaks without any impact from the brain).
We did go apple picking and Mel and Reagan made an apple pie. Yummy.
Reagan has a game this Thurs evening, two on Sunday and two next Monday. Fun on a bun. Combine this with Reagan's bell ringing practice on Tues, Mel surely has a meeting thrown in one night and you get busy family weeknights...
I need a vacation...
