I wanna be a high roller

I write this from the 27th floor of the Flamingo Hotel in Vegas. Now you might ask, what is a schmuck like me doing up on the high floors? Some mix up, I assure you.

It took me, no joke 10 minutes to explore this "room". I just got out of the jacuzzi after a nice soak (I ran this morning in Balboa Park in San Diego, fantastic run, but appartently running outdoors uses slightly different muscles than my treadmill...I am- or was a bit achy...). I've got two tvs, two bathrooms, a couple of sitting areas for entertaining. I honestly suspected I would find a naked women in the bed. This place is bigger than our apt in CA.

My whirlwind tour of CA, Mexico and Vegas was not as smooth as butter. For example, the rental car developed a fun (but deadly) pulsing on the left front brake that continued after braking... So they tried to stick us in the this chevy something. Now, I am not a midget by any stretch of the mind, but my collegue and I would have to sit single file and coordinate leaning on the turns.

Long beach is beautiful by the way. Had drinks with clients at the seaport (which is on the Long Beach Grand Prix route, they had the fences up, good things no cops were around...). View of the Queen Mary, no not the girl, the ship. Nice. Beautiful weather, really makes me miss SoCal.

But you can't go home again, I learned our favorite restraunt in Old Town changed hands and is not the happening place it once was.

Another 24hrs and I'll be on the road back home from JFK. Fun. Hope your week is this entertaining...

Ian goes Punk

It, of course is my fault. You could say that about most anything. But this, this is pure genius. Yesterday, he and I were headed to get haircuts. He says, "what kind of haircut are you getting Daddy?". I give my stock answer, "mohawk". He giggles and says, "me too, we'll be twins." He is smiling ear to ear. Next comes the part where I carefully extract myself from getting said mohawk. He says, "i don't care I am getting a mohawk." I saw ok thinking Mel will never allow. She says ok.

Five minute update

Sorry, 5 is all you get today...ok at least for now. Here are the top stories from the past week: Thanksgiving. What happens when you don't see family and don't eat Turkey? Not so bad, sorry family. We had a blast watching the parade in NYC, it was a beautiful warm day. The kids and mostly Mel enjoyed the floats and balloons. We'll be back next year. You can see a slide show of the images mel took, far too many up to the right -----> Best quote at a concert, Best thing to happen to my brother in front of me, "Sir, would you buy me a beer?" -underage girl at State Radio Concert. Probably the last 18 and older show we go to. Save the security team, we were the oldest folks there... And FYI, Rob didn't buy her one, what a good guy. Then we talked about if we'll still come to these concerts if Reagan happens to go to the same one... We decided she isn't leaving the house watching some young girl crowd surf... Prickly Pear is out of the water....
